Dr. Helena Belgrave
Dr. Helena Belgrave has an established psychotherapy practice in South-East London, where she sees adults with a variety of issues, as well as specialising in perinatal issues. She has a keen interest in birth trauma, prenatal and postnatal depression and anxiety. Dr Belgrave also works in conjunction with a postnatal Pilates specialist team called Jellybelly where she facilitates informal chats with new mothers about their experiences so far. Dr Belgrave has also worked at the NHS for a number of years in an IAPT service, where she was also able to see mothers and expectant mothers, and obtain valuable perinatal supervision there. She has also conducted a talk for the Insight Network on perinatal issues, as well as locally through Mothers Inc, a wellbeing centre.
Her approach is predominantly existential, having trained as a counselling psychologist at Regents University. She was fortunate enough to do a number of different placements whilst studying there, including an NHS placement with a perinatal team.
